When SMS reminders make sense

WhatsApp covers most client messaging for Ranovu providers, but some clients prefer classic SMS or lack WhatsApp installed. Ultra adds SMS as a secondary channel with its own quota.

How Ranovu sends SMS

Ranovu uses Twilio for outbound SMS with provider-level quota enforcement. Messages dispatch on the same lifecycle events as WhatsApp when SMS toggles are enabled and quota remains.

Failed sends surface in outbound analytics for troubleshooting without exposing client phone numbers in logs.

SMS vs WhatsApp on Ranovu

WhatsApp remains the default with higher plan quotas and rich template buttons. SMS on Ultra is intentionally limited and priced for redundancy, not replacement of WhatsApp for every message.

Most businesses start with WhatsApp only, then enable SMS for specific client segments after upgrading.

Reminder timing and content

Reminder hours-before settings apply to SMS arms similar to WhatsApp scheduling. Content follows approved plain or link variants configured at platform level for compliance.

Keep SMS copy aligned with your FAQ cancellation policy so clients know how to reply or reschedule.

Quota management
